The Femme Bras Leves and Joueur de Pipeau patterns were designed by Rene Lalique in 1928 for the decorative panels which adorned the interiors of the luxury and famous train, the Orient Express. During the inter-war period, the train appeared as the right solution to overcome the air and sea blockades. The Orient Express train was one of the first luxury train made entirely of metal during this inter-war period. It was an astonishing demonstration of the cutting-edge technologies and the finest know-how implemented at that time. Nowadays, these decorative panels are still fashioned by Lalique in satin finish crystal.
