- In ancient Egypt, starting in the third millennium BC, in the religious ritual of mummification, organs were placed inside four vessels, where they were kept – according to belief – connected to the body.
- Each of the lids of each of these containers (called “canopic jars”) had a figure: three animals and one man, representing the four children of the deity Horus.
- This notion was the starting point for creating the Endangered collection, which delves into this distant past and brings it to our present day, by representing four endangered animals originating from four major continents, replacing the metaphysical with the very real necessity to ensure that life on earth continues.
- Each figure is a warning about the imminent extinction of thousands of other animals, which will impact the planet in unforeseen ways, irreparably impoverishing humanity.
- Endangered is a tribute to biodiversity and a wake-up call to careless human behavior.
- The use of white biscuit porcelain represents the purity of wildlife, while, on the body of the box-vessels, Egyptian hieroglyphics make way for low reliefs of printed circuit boards.
- Words punctuated by binary numbering to identify the respective animal are also engraved at the bottom of each lid.
- This decoration and black biscuit porcelain represent the negative impact of technology and human society on every ecosystem.

Standard Shipping includes an appointment and delivery to the nearest dry area of your home. Item will be left in the box, without unpacking any shipping materials. A signature will be required upon delivery, unless your order is shipped with UPS or other small parcel carrier. Small parcel carriers do not make appointments prior to delivery. Please note that stairs are not included with this delivery service.
White Glove Delivery (Estimated 12 - 16 business days in transit)
White Glove service includes a delivery appointment, inside delivery up to 1 flight of stairs, placement, assembly, and removal of large packaging materials.
