A representation of its supreme power over all creatures in oriental mythology, Protective Dragon is a High Porcelain creation, in a limited edition of 777 units to commemorate Lladró’s seven decades. A symbol of strength, protection and good luck, this legendary being, existing in ancient oriental cultures, wards off evil spirits, protects the innocent and provides safety to all those who possess it. This special edition stands out for its striking decoration, with a special mention for the golden luster combined with details in blue and red enamels. The hundreds of scales covering the dragon’s skin are minutely hand-painted one by one. The undulating shape of this complex sculpture is reminiscent of the figure eight, the number of good luck in oriental culture.

Art inspires art. That is the case of this composition which borrows its reference from the work of Sorolla, the celebrated impressionist known as the "painter of light". Born in the coastal city of Valencia, Spain, this painter of genre scenes, seascapes and landscapes made a name thanks to the intensity of light in his work and his ability to capture sunlight and shadows. This is the Sorolla, whose 160th birthday is being celebrated, that inspired this scene of a couple on a romantic boat ride. This creation is a good example of sculptural composition and ornamental wealth. Worth highlighting is the meticulous bas relief handwork to recreate the embroidery of the lady’s dress and shawl, the patterns on her parasol and the etchings on the boat, conveying so well the grain and texture of wood. A creation dominated by white, the color so closely associated with the work of Sorolla, pastel tones and the flowers, handmade petal by petal.

Spanish Pure Breed - Haute Ecole is a porcelain sculpture in a limited edition of 500 units which depicts one of the world’s most prestigious horse breeds with utmost faithfulness and anatomical precision. In a spectacular demonstration of control over sculpture, this beautiful creature is elegantly executing a courbette, one of the classic Haute École dressage movements. The decoration is another of the highpoints of this exquisite piece: all the horse tack, including the harness, bridle, saddle and blanket are richly ornamented with golden luster, while the bit and stirrups are made in gold-plated brass and the reins and stirrup straps are natural leather. The intense blue and gold that dominate the coloring of the adornments contrast with the whiteness of the skin, rendered with extraordinary detail that further heightens the sense of realism.

Flowers, the iconic elements included in so many of our creations, are the inspiration for these chopstick rests which recreate the open petals of a lily. Sculpted in white porcelain with a touch of golden luster, the painstaking execution faithfully reproduces the unmistakable form of this flower. These chopstick rests are not just functional accessories, as they also add an original and elegant touch to any table. The set comprises two chopstick rests and four wooden chopsticks.

Since time immemorial hand gestures have been a language in their own right, and their expressiveness and symbolism have made them is a way of communicating in themselves. With this creation, our artists have focused on the language of mudras, gestures that come from yoga and meditation practices from Hinduism and Buddhism. For the former, there is a total of 24 mudras, one for each hour of the day, with each one representing a series of different benefits. For the latter, they are gestures that predispose the body for meditation and help in concentration. Abundance Mudra is inspired by these age-old gestures. In this particular version, the hand is decorated with geometric patterns and plant motifs that are meticulously etched on the fingers. The hands rest on a sculpted flower with delicate petals handmade one by one. **Different tones of golden luster were used in the decoration of the etchings, some with a glazed finish and other matte. Meanwhile, the flower, handmade petal by petal, is decorated in a tone that combines yellow, pink and a subtle hint of gold. Abundance Mudra celebrates the wealth of life, the gifts it showers us with. And gratitude for all that life gives us.

The new porcelain set, comprising a bottle with lid and two small bowls for serving soy sauce, is the latest addition to the Koi collection: a series of table accessories inspired by the world’s most highly appreciated ornamental fish, a symbol of love and friendship. Stormtroopers are one of the most iconic images from the Star Wars saga. These imperial warriors, which have gone on to become part of pop culture, have been faithfully depicted in porcelain in minute detail. Made in glazed white porcelain, black was chosen as the main color for the decoration with some touches painted in grey tones. The piece comes with a base featuring an identifying plaque and its edition number. This creation is part of a limited edition of 1138 units.
